Understanding Usage & Limits
Ekphrastic uses account allowances to manage how much of certain platform capabilities you can use.
The main usage areas are:
Models
AI usage
Storage
Your available allowances depend on your account and plan.
You can review your current usage from the usage information displayed within Ekphrastic.
How usage limits work
Each allowance controls a different type of activity.
Reaching one limit does not mean that your entire Ekphrastic workspace becomes unavailable.
Instead, Ekphrastic blocks the action associated with the limit that has been reached.
For example:
Reaching your Model limit can prevent additional model creation.
Reaching your AI allowance can prevent additional AI generation.
Reaching your Storage limit can prevent additional Resource uploads.
Existing content is not automatically deleted simply because you reach one of these limits.
Model usage
Your Model allowance controls the number of Models available under your account entitlement.
When creating additional Models, Ekphrastic checks the relevant allowance.
If you've reached the permitted limit, additional model creation is blocked.
Your existing Models remain in your workspace.
AI usage
AI usage is consumed when you use Ekphrastic's AI generation capabilities.
For example, Creating an ROI Model with AI uses your available AI allowance.
AI usage is separate from simply having an existing Model in your workspace.
This distinction is important:
Model allowance controls the permitted Model usage associated with your account.
AI allowance controls your use of AI-powered generation.
When you reach your AI limit
If you don't have sufficient AI usage available, Ekphrastic prevents additional AI generation.
This does not delete Models you've already created.
You can continue working with existing content using the functionality available under your account.
When AI usage becomes available again, or your entitlement changes, you can resume using the affected AI generation capability.
Manual and AI model creation
Creating a Model manually and creating one with AI are different workflows.
A manually created Model does not use AI to generate its initial business-case structure.
An AI-generated Model uses your AI allowance because Ekphrastic is generating that foundation for you.

Storage
Storage is used by uploaded Resources.
Resources include:
PDF Documents
Videos
Presentations
Before uploading a Resource, Ekphrastic checks whether sufficient storage is available.
If the upload would exceed your available Storage allowance, the upload is blocked.
When you reach your Storage limit
If you don't have enough available Storage for a new Resource, Ekphrastic prevents the upload from proceeding.
Existing Resources remain in your workspace.
To upload additional content, you may need to:
Remove Resources you no longer require, or
Change the entitlement available to your account
Deleting content should only be done when you no longer need the Resource or its associated information.
Important: Deleting a Resource can also remove associated tracked links and Buyer Engagement history. Don't delete content solely to free storage without considering whether you still need its historical information.
File size and Storage are different limits
The maximum individual Resource upload size is 300 MB.
This is separate from your overall Storage allowance.
A file therefore needs to satisfy both requirements:
The individual file must be within the 300 MB upload limit.
Your account must have sufficient available Storage for the upload.
A file can be below 300 MB and still be blocked if there isn't enough Storage available on your account.
What happens when a limit is reached?
The three main limits affect different actions:

Model usage under your entitlement
Additional Model creation is blocked
AI usage
AI-powered generation
Additional affected AI generation is blocked
Storage
Uploaded Resources
Additional uploads are blocked when insufficient Storage is available
Reaching these limits does not automatically delete your existing content.
Usage and your subscription
Your allowances are associated with the entitlement available to your account.
If you need additional capacity, review the upgrade options currently available within Ekphrastic.

Usage information
Use the usage information displayed in Ekphrastic to monitor your current allowances.
Checking usage before creating a large amount of new content can help you identify whether additional capacity may be required.
This is particularly useful before:
Generating additional Models with AI
Creating additional Models
Uploading large Resources
Uploading Videos or Presentations
Usage limits don't measure Buyer Engagement
Account usage allowances are separate from Buyer Engagement.
Creating Sessions or recording engagement through tracked links should not be confused with your Models, AI or Storage usage.
Buyer Engagement provides analytics about activity associated with tracked shared content.

If your usage doesn't look correct
If the usage shown in your account doesn't match what you expect, avoid deleting content solely to try to correct the displayed amount.
First consider which allowance is affected:
Models
AI usage
Storage
Then check whether a recent creation, AI generation, upload or deletion could explain the change.

Managing your usage
A few simple practices can help keep your workspace manageable:
Delete Models only when you no longer need them or their associated sharing history.
Remove unused Resources when you're confident they are no longer required.
Use manual Model creation when AI generation isn't necessary.
Review available usage before uploading particularly large Resources.
Check the current plan options if you consistently need more capacity.
Usage limits are intended to control specific platform capabilities rather than require you to regularly remove active content.
